Tony joined CATS in 2022 after spending three decades as a high school teacher in New York City. With a BA in History from Bates College and an MA in Education from Columbia University, Tony has always made Outdoor Education the main facet of his work in the city, leading students on camping trips and hikes in upstate New York and running a community gardening program in the Bronx.
Now living in Lewis with his family, Tony has fully embraced the recreational opportunities in the Adirondacks, whether biking, backpacking or cross-country skiing. Of course, his main passion is hiking, and he likes no hike better than the CATS West Valley Trail. Tony also created the Lonely Hill Trail, now a CATS trail on his property.
