Join us for the Grand Opening of the Mount Inez Trail on Saturday, August 1st!

  

Experience the inspiring legacy of Inez Milholland, renowned women’s suffrage advocate and beloved Lewis, New York resident, as we celebrate the Mount Inez Trail Grand Opening.

  

Join us at the Mount Inez trailhead for a day filled with meaning and community spirit: hear from key speakers who played pivotal roles in the mountain renaming, enjoy a special musical performance by Meadowmount School of Music students, and set out on a guided hike to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Inez’s namesake peak. Light snacks and refreshments from Triple Green Jade Farm will be served as we come together to honor history, advocacy, and the enduring power of community. This event is generously sponsored by Covered Bridge Realty.​

  

The Mount Inez trail is a challenging 3.22-mile round trip that rewards with a fantastic view of the majestic High Peaks and the dramatic, rocky ridgeline above the stunning Boquet Valley. The journey begins at the Mount Inez trailhead with a gentle ascent that eases you into the experience, then the trail steepens for the final mile, gaining 600 feet in elevation as you push toward the 1,566-foot summit. There is also the option from the Mount Inez trailhead to walk the shorter, and beautiful, 1.5-mile Meadowmount Woods Trail, with 350 feet of elevation gain.

Getting Here:

Parking is available at the Meadowmount School of Music concert hall. They will provide a shuttle to the trailhead. The shuttle will run from 4:15 pm to 4:50 pm. At the end of the ceremony and hike, you would walk the new "Meadowmount Forest Trail" 1.5 miles back to your vehicle. Click here for Google Map directions
