Champlain Area Trails and Town of Lewis Invite Community to Twin Valleys Open House
LEWIS, N.Y. — Champlain Area Trails and the Town of Lewis invite community members to attend an Open House at Twin Valleys on Thursday, July 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to explore the property, learn about future plans, and help shape the vision for this unique community resource.
Guests are encouraged to stop by for complimentary snacks and beverages, tour the facilities, participate in family-friendly activities, and join a guided hike on the property. Most importantly, attendees will have the opportunity to share ideas and provide input on how Twin Valleys can best serve the community in the years ahead.
Last fall, Champlain Area Trails completed the acquisition of Twin Valleys, a property with tremendous potential to expand outdoor recreation, education, and tourism opportunities in the Champlain Valley. As partners, Champlain Area Trails and the Town of Lewis are working together to ensure the property becomes a welcoming destination that benefits both local residents and visitors.
"The Town of Lewis and Champlain Area Trails share a commitment to creating opportunities that strengthen our community and local economy," said Town of Lewis Supervisor Tim Pierce. "Twin Valleys has the potential to become an important asset for Lewis by providing access to nature, supporting tourism, and offering a gathering place for people of all ages."
Through their partnership, Champlain Area Trails and the Town of Lewis are focused on several shared goals, including:
Providing a beautiful outdoor resource that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
Prioritizing accessibility and ensuring that as many people as possible can experience and benefit from the property.
Encouraging community involvement and local leadership in shaping Twin Valleys' future.
"Community input is essential as we plan the next chapter for Twin Valleys," said Arin Burdo, Executive Director of Champlain Area Trails. "We want to hear what people value most about this property and how they envision it serving future generations. Whether you're interested in outdoor recreation, education, conservation, tourism, or simply having a beautiful place to gather, we hope you'll join us."
The Open House is free and open to all. Families, neighbors, community organizations, and visitors are encouraged to attend.
