CATSWomen is a volunteer-led group that offers a welcoming environment for women of all ages and abilities to gain confidence in the outdoors through Champlain Area Trails.
Check out this 4-mile trail to a beautiful summit with a fire tower. The trail is a moderate winter hike that gradually gains 1000 feet of elevation, with only a few steep sections. The trail leads to a small rocky summit with a fire tower that provides a stunning 360-degree view of the High Peaks to the north and dozens of smaller mountains and lakes to the south. This is a stunning winter hike!
TIME: Those who wish to carpool can meet at the Roostercomb parking lot (Rt 73, Keene Valley) at 8:15 am. Othwise, plan to meet at the trailhead at 9:45 am. This hike should take about 3 hours.
WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good layers for hiking, and bring hats and mittens/gloves. Remember to bring snacks and water! Snowshoes or microspikes will be needed for this hike, depending on the weather.
